Jubilee Fruit Market is a family-run business which was originally established in 1978 by Leo and Maria Bordignon. According to the original Certificate of Incorporation, the business was established with the registered objective to “buy, sell and deal in fruit, vegetables, manufactured and prepared foods of all kinds and descriptions, and general produce of the land, vine and tree.”

Don Allen, purchased the store in 1992 from his then in-laws Leo and Maria and, for the past three decades, has never wavered from the business’ original vision, namely to offer exceptional produce, specialty food products and prepared foods to the store’s clientele, complemented by unparalleled service and an unwavering dedication to excellence. As most of his customers know, Don rises (very!) early to personally select the best-of-the best produce of “the land, vine and tree” from the Toronto Food Terminal for his clientele and for his kitchen.

Don is immeasurably proud of Jubilee Market and of the relationships and connections that small, locally owned businesses such as his foster. Like Stuart McLean’s beloved character Dave, of “The Vinyl Café”, Don is proud to assure his customers that “We may not be big, but we’re small”.

If the way to our hearts is through our stomachs, then the kitchen is truly the heart of the home and nowhere is this more evident than in Jubilee’s kitchen. Each one of our house-made products comes to you from our house to your home. Food tastes better when you eat it with your family and you’re the family that we cook for.

We should all be eating fruits and vegetables as if our lives depended on it…because they do! Our fresh and nourishing packaged and prepared foods offer ample opportunities to nourish your body and to feed your soul. Whether you’re looking for something special to BBQ, a Friday-night pizza, a hearty casserole or a fully prepared meal to take home and plate for your family, we have it all. And, if we don’t have it, we’ll make it! It’s just that simple.

Comfort

Fresh soups, stews and sauces are just the beginning. Dressings, dips, spreads, salsas and sides help to round out the comfort quotient. And our house-made hummus and guacamole are our not-to-be-missed signature staples. Pair a warm soup with a fresh salad and a crusty demi-baguette and call it lunch. Add on a prepared main course and call it dinner! The possibilities are limitless but, in the end, it all adds up to simply delicious.

As Julia Child once said, “A party without a cake is just a meeting” and we couldn’t agree more! From our specialty muffins (imagine blueberry, carrot, lemon-raspberry, oatmeal-cranberry, apple-spice) to our wildly popular banana bread, to our fresh fruit crumbles, we have something to indulge every sweet tooth.
